10-14Holistic Health & Healing Summer Institute for Integrative Clinical Care, Woodbury, MN.

This professional development program is designed to prepare nurses, nursing faculty and other healthcare providers to teach and provide integrative/holistic health and healing to patients and families in a variety of clinical and community settings. Through didactic, online, and experiential learning, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to care for patients and provide leadership in environments that promote optimal healing. Early registration (by April 1, 2013) receives a 10 percent discount ($1170) or groups of three or more receive a 15 percent discount. Academic credit and blended option, CSPH Course #5101 is also available. Held at and co-sponsored by Woodwinds Health Campus (Woodbury, Minnesota) and the University of Minnesota, School of Nursing. 11-13The Mayo Clinic Complementary and Integrative Medicine: Where the Rubber Meets the Road, Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI.

The course intends to provide participants with awareness and basic knowledge of Complementary and Integrative medicine; familiarity with some of the most common therapies; and most importantly, practical application of these therapies to patients with relevant diseases and conditions. This course has been customized towards practicing health care practitioners (physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses) who work with patients using or interested in using complementary and integrative medicine therapies. ICC-CIM's mission is to advance the fields of integrative and complementary medicine through the dissemination of cutting edge clinical care with a strong evidence base, foster the development of new collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships. The Congress is designed to explore the clinical frontiers of a wellness-based healthcare system supported by individuals and teams practicing holistic, integrative medicine incorporating both complementary and conventional medical strategies.

Congress Objectives

• To provide opportunities for clinicians of all types to experience and learn new approaches to the optimization of patients' health and the reversal and treatment of chronic disease

Areas of Integrative Medicine presented and discussed at the Congress will include juried clinical case reports, lifestyle and prevention strategies, interprofessional joint presentations and integrative clinical care models. This Congress will feature keynote and plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, and innovative sessions including hands-on workshops.

The Consortium is committed to making this meeting an international focal point for this wealth of talent and resources. We hope you’ll join us in Chicago, Illinois, USA on October 29-31, 2013!
